Orange Ginger Sauce
22 min · 1 cup sauce
Ingredients
□ 3 medium oranges, zested and juiced (about 1 cup juice)
□ 2 tbsp fresh ginger, finely grated
□ 1 garlic clove, finely grated
□ 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
□ 2 tbsp rice vinegar
□ 2 tbsp honey
□ 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
□ 1 tsp cornstarch
□ 1 tbsp cold water
Directions
1. Zest and juice the oranges. Stir soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey together.
2. Reduce juice and zest by about one third, then stir in the soy mixture, ginger, and garlic.
3. Taste while warm. For a glossy coating, stir in a cornstarch slurry and cook briefly; skip for a thinner sauce.
4. Stir in sesame oil off heat and let stand 2 minutes. Serve warm or refrigerate leftovers.
Cook’s note: Reduce the orange juice before adding soy so its citrus flavor stays distinct.
